Police Investigate Similar West Knox Robberies

Knoxville (WVLT) - Knoxville Police are investigating two separate robberies in West Knoxville over the past several days, though they are not sure if the crimes are related.

On Saturday, police say a young man walked into the staples store in Town And Country Circle, put a candy bar on the counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

Police say something similar happened at a business in Turkey Creek Friday night.

Regular customers say they are shocked it happened in their neighborhood.

"It's very surpassing, especially in a place like West Knoxville. Staples just always seemed to me to have a lot of security and everything is just locked down. So that being robbed is just a big thing," says Shemyra Johnson.

If you know anything about either one of these robberies, call the KPD Crime Hotline at 215-7212.
