Local Shriner's Conclude Paper Sale

Knoxville (WVLT) -- You may have noticed some other trademark attire around the Tennessee Valley this morning.

Decked out in their trademark fezzes, the Shriner's are finishing up their annual week of fund raising with Paper Sale Sunday.

All donations taken go toward health care for needy children.

"Any child that we send to the hospital does not have to pay for a thing," said local Shriner Scott Trotter. "We send them up there, they have room and board, and they get treatment while they're there and if they aren't staying for any length of time we bring them back with the shrine van too."

I think that the Shriners intentions are good but somebody needs to tell these people that collect money at intersections to get over to the side of the road when traffic lights are green because I almost hit one of their collecters this morning at the intersection of Rutledge Pike and Lovescreek road because he was in the middle of the right lane as if to stop me during a green light! I know that athe collections are necessary but not at the expense of a dead collector!
