Knoxville (WVLT) -- After months of rising, gas prices appear to have taken a slight dip.
The most recent AAA Fuel Gauge Report, shows prices across Tennessee have fallen about a penny in the last twenty-four hours.
Here in Knoxville you may have noticed some larger drops such as at the Weigels on Kingston Pike.
At $2.88 a gallon, they are currently selling regular unleaded for a dime less than a station just across the street.
"It doesn't make any sense why everybody wants to stay high and other people are low right now you know," said Troy Wilson who was filling up his vehicle this afternoon. "I think its just greed."
The ease in fuel prices may not last for long however.
Some claim a tropical storm off the coast of Florida could drive gas prices higher.
