Maryville Men Indicted, Pot Found In Statue Of Jesus Christ

Maryville, Blount County (AP) -- Two Maryville men have been indicted, accused of packing 15 pounds of marijuana into a statue of Jesus Christ.

Prosecutors say Luis Eduardo Rodriguez and Orlando Garza-Garcia intended to sell the dope.

They're charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Judicial District Drug Task Force reported finding the drugs inside the four-foot-tall hollow religious statue at the home the suspects shared.
