Christian – Newsom murder suspects' attorneys in court

Knoxville (WVLT) - Attorneys for the four suspects in the brutal rape and murder of a Knoxville couple appeared in court Monday.

Lemaricus Davidson; his brother, Letalvis Cobbins; and George Thomas were indicted on 46 counts, including first-degree murder.

Vanessa Coleman was indicted on 40 counts, also including murder, in connection with the deaths of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom.

Monday, a judge instructed the suspects to next appear in court on July 30th, with a formal hearing now set for October fourth.

Separate trials are set for next year, beginning with Cobbins on May 12th.

Prosecutors have not said yet whether they'll seek the death penalty.

Whatever happened to justice in this country? Why don't they let the public know what the courts decide? They certainly deserve the death penalty and if they don't get it, there's something very wrong in America.

Thank GOD that we can still have our guns. I think that these people should be put on public display, teahthered to a wall, and the public should be allowed to stick them with pins until they bleed to death. Public displays will help eliminate actions like these. The court systems are screwed up. Lets get some more liberal judges, they will want to rehabilitate these crapbags

This is the most horrible crime I think I've ever read. These are not even human beings. They shold be tortured slowly, just what they did to these 2 young people. What is this world coming too.

This is the type of crime that hate crime laws are all about. Why aren't they being prosecuted for a hate crime. This is why you have the death penalty. There is no basis to even think that they can be rehabilitated. This is a calculated, perverse action overflowing with hate and calculated to extract the most pain and humiliation from the victims as possible. If anyone out there thinks that they should be at the courthouse to insure that these pieces of refuse are given any treatment other than justice and a swift execution, then you to are part of the problem and not the cure. Whether these people were white, black or yellow doesn't matter. This is a crime that deserves the sadistic BAS***DS be put down and stuffed in the ground. They have no right to live and occupy air that decent human beings live in. Prison will be a reward for them. They have their "badges" and will look to kill more in prison.

Hang em slow - KELL em ASAP - Why are these devils still even alive - the justice system sux so badly - it is a disgrace that these people are still even alive - get them into the ground as soon as possible. What if it were to happene to a member of the judges family or the wife of the public defender ? I think they might change their opinion of whether or not to seek the death penalty.

These people had to be out of their minds. It is so scary to know how people can be. They had to have had some screws missing. Who would do that to another human being. They are going to burn in hell.

These thugs will just continue to rape and sodomize while in jail. Put them to death and keep them away from other prisoners. They have forfeited their right to be considered human.
