Immigrants claim arrests were result racial profiling

NASHVILLE (AP) -- Eleven immigrants from Mexico are suing the Maury County Sheriff's Department, claiming they were illegally detained because of their "Hispanic appearance."

The sheriff's department, working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has arrested dozens of suspected illegal immigrants in recent months. Most of those arrested were not charged with any crimes other than being illegally in the country. Because of that, immigrants’ rights advocates have accused the sheriff's department of racial profiling.

Sheriff Enoch George has said previously that the arrests were made legitimately during criminal investigations in the county about 40 miles south of Nashville. County Attorney William Dale said he had not yet seen the suit and could not comment on it.

The suit was filed last Thursday in US District Court in Nashville after about 19 immigrants were arrested two days earlier while deputies and agents searched for a rape suspect in a trailer park.

I AM OUTRAGED every time I read about the "rights" of illegal aliens. How dare our government tiptoe around the problem and allow them, the criminals, the enemy, the invaders of this country, to use our own laws against us! When will they wake up and realize this is a war and treat the situation as such? Someone needs to look into enforcing the law under the RICO Act. Illegal aliens = illegal employment = illegally obtained funds. Seize their money, bank accounts, and assets to help pay for the theft of services, and their own deportation!!!

If you are not legal, you should not be here, living off my tax dollars to raise and feed your family! You sure dont have any rights regarding ANYTHING and definatly do not have the right to sue. Illegal Mexicans expect us to change laws when they are obviously not even abiding by the ones we have, why are we not making them!? If the "Hispanics" that were arrested are legal, then they join forces and help the rest of us LEGAL CITIZANs and get the ILLEGALS out of our country so we can all be treated fairly again!!!!

"Advocates" for illegals work so hard to make us believe that stealing residency in our nation, stealing jobs, and often stealing i.d.s are not crimes worthy of prosecution. But they are. There is no need to have any reason other than illegal presence in our nation to make an arrest. And as for the tiresome racism charge, send the illegal Irish home first.

Just what else are they going to come up with as illegals??? Ship them back to where they came from and then we don't have to worry with them.

Illegally here, a crime in and of itself, according to our laws, yet somhow it is the sheriff's fault? These immigrants rights folks should be arrested for aiding and abetting.
