A LOCAL 8 WEATHER ALERT is in effect into Wednesday due repeated rainfall. A Flood Watch is in effect for our area until 7 AM Wednesday. Where there are more pauses in the rain, totals will be closer to 2 inches but some will receive at least 4 inches of rainfall total. Creeks and streams run high and areas with poor runoff could face flooding problems. Busy commute hours could face more slowdowns, with fog and standing water on roads as well.
Knoxville (WVLT) - Here's a traffic alert to remember, especially if you're heading off to church, Sunday.
TDOT will close down the I-75 south ramp to I-640 west and I-75 south Saturday night at 10:00 p.m.
The ramp will be closed until 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
Traffic will be routed to I-275 and then I-40.
Local traffic can use Clinton Highway to access I-640. That stretch will be closed while TDOT crews work to repave and revamp the roads shoulders.
