Maryville, Blount County (WVLT) - A former National Guardsman who faces sentencing next week for plotting to blow up an armory attempted suicide Friday afternoon in the Blount County Jail.
Officials say Ivan Duane Braden was found lying in his cell, but was breathing and talking during a head count this afternoon.
He was taken to Blount Memorial Hospital, officials say he had no visible signs of injury.
Braden had requested his guilty plea be withdrawn but that was denied.
