Indiafest 2007

Lenoir City (WVLT) -- The United States and India apparently have a lot in common.

You could find out what at this afternoon's Indiafest 2007 in Lenior City.

The Hindu Community Center put it together to showcase what members consider a major learning tool.

India has 14 official languages, and a wide mix of cultures and religious faiths.

"With them they bring a lot of different views and opinions and religions, and we are trying to show that we have existed with this kind of of diversity in Indian for thousands of years," said Revembra Awasthi, a member of the Hindu Community Center. "We think it might be very important for American's to maybe learn something from this."

The festival featured live music, educational exhibits, hand-crafts, and food from India's four regions.
