NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee's unemployment rate for July remained 4.1 percent, the same as last month.
It's the lowest unemployment has been since December 2000.
Employment Security commissioner James Neeley said in the past year, employment increased by almost 59,000 or 2.1 percent.
The monthly business survey showed employment increases in accommodation and food services, up 2,000 jobs. Educational and health services jobs increased by 600 and clothing and clothing accessories stores increased by 500.
Monthly employment decreases occurred in government, manufacturing and professional and business service jobs.
