3 shootings in 24 hours in Hopkinsville, Kentucky

HOPKINSVILLE, Kentucky (WVLT) --

The first happened around 10 o'clock Friday, when police say 3 women were all shot multiple times, and one is dead.

They were sitting on the porch of a home on South Mcpherson Avenue.

After that shooting, police say a man, who may be the suspect from the first shooting, broke into a home on Westwood Drive, and shot a woman before he was killed during a struggle with the homeowner.

Police say the suspect was strangled to death, and it was a justified homicide.

The woman is expected to be OK.

Chuck Inman, Hopkinsville Police, said, "This is just an isolated incident, that carried over. If those first two incidents are linked together, it's from the same individual, one individual. The second, or third, rather, shooting that we had again is an isolated incident"

The third shooting happened around Noon Saturday, Hopkinsville Police say a man was shot in the leg at an apartment complex after two females broke in.

They are still on the run.

It happened on Fort Campbell Drive, near the army base.

The victim was flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
