Blount Co. Man A No Show In Court

Blount County (WVLT) - Authorities are searching a Blount County man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 43-year-old August Edward Callis after he did not show up for court this morning for his arraignment.

In 2005, Callis was arrested after investigators say they found about 100,000 pornographic images of children on his computer.

Callis will be held without bond once he is apprehended.

Common sense will tell you that no person has time to download and look at 100,000 pictures individually. An automatic downloading program such as "Image Wolf" would have to be used. In the original story Mr. Callis was accused of having 100,000 pornographic images with 1000 of them (10 percent) of them being children. Of those one thousand a vast majority of them were probably children near 18 making it immpossible to know from the photograph they were children. It is likley that this person had no idea there were pornographic pictures of children on his computer. Try sittng down some day and try to look at 100,000 pictures of anything and try weeding out 1000 specific pictres from those 100,000. It cant' be done. Just the same I must point out that if you play with matches such as this person did, you will get burned.

This story is not accurate. Around 100,000 pornographic images were found on his computer. About 1000 of them were of children.
