Ambulance crash leaves 1 dead, 9 injured

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)-- One person died and nine others were injured after an ambulance crash Saturday night.

According to THP, the ambulance was running an emergency call when it hit a car on U.S. Highway 11-W at the intersection of Silver Lake Rd.

The driver of the car Samantha Hathaway, 18, was killed on impact.

After hitting her car, the ambulance veered to the left and hit two other cars stopped at a traffic light.

Three children under the age of 11 were among the injured.

Charges are pending.
