WEST KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- West Town Mall will play host to Knox County’s 2012 America Recycles Day on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The theme: Dare to Recycle!
Residents should bring old or unwanted documents to be confidentially shredded and recycled.
Items such as old tax files, billing statements, receipts or any other paper document that needs secure disposal.
A medication collection by the Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Solid Waste, Knox County Health Department and others from the East Tennessee Regional Medication Collection Coalition
A recycling bin giveaway by the Knoxville Recycling Coalition
A used mercury thermometer exchange by the City of Knoxville Solid Waste Office
Keep Knoxville Beautiful will have information on volunteer work and keeping our community clean
The Water Quality Forum will be on hand to answer questions about water quality issues
Waste Connections will be available to discuss curbside recycling and the Recycle Bank program
