KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Autopsy results now released in the death of Aaron Douglas. A medical examiner says he died from having multiple drugs in his body, including Methadone and Diazepam.
On May 12th, police found the former Vol dead in Fernandina Beach, Florida. That's about 20 miles north of Jacksonville. The 21-year-old had been in town on vacation.
Douglas played high school football at Maryville High School and played for one season at the University of Tennessee. Just this past year, he signed a letter of intent to play at Alabama.
He is the son of former Vols David and Karla Horton Douglas and left behind family, friends, and former teammates here in East Tennessee.
Methadone is usually used as a pain reliever and Diazepam is typically used to treat anxiety and nervousness.
