Autumn Fest, South Knox businesses attract crowds

KNOXVILLE,Tenn (WVLT)-- More than a thousand people spent the day celebrating the beauty of the Fall while supporting South Knoxville businesses.

Stanley's Greenhouse and Yester Years Vintage store along with dozens of other vendors attracted crowds Saturday.

The event took place from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m.

It was also a celebration of the re-opening of the Henley Bridge after being closed for nearly three years.

"We've noticed a lot more people from out west coming over here that normally wouldn't have because the bridge was closed and they are coming to this side of town, so we figured we would celebrate that," said organizer Pete Skramstad.

Organizers are already planning the next event in the Spring.
