KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Aveda Institute opens its doors to the public Thursday with a grand opening event at their location on Gay St.
The grand opening is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and features food from Coolato Gelato and music from The Johnson Swinglet.
The Aveda Institute is located in the renovated former S + W Grand Building on Gay St. in downtown Knoxville.
The cosmetology school is the sixth Aveda Institute opened by the Douglas J. Aveda Institutes & Salons.
Douglas J. Companies President Scott Weaver said in a release, "I love the city of Knoxville and we are proud to be part of a downtown area so rich with history. The Institute has brought new jobs and exceptional training to the Knoxville workforce. We look forward to providing the public with top of the line beauty and wellness services, as well as organic Aveda products."
