KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- In East Tennessee, there is a shortage of adequate supplies of blood for local hospitals in the Knoxville area.
MEDIC Regional Blood Center says they have a shortage of blood, because collections during the holiday season were low.
On Thursday and Friday, donors can get a free Regal Cinema movie pass, good at all locations.
Donors can visit one of two donor centers: 1601 Ailor Ave (8am - 6:30pm) or 11000 Kingston Pike/Farragut (Thurs: 9am - 7pm or Fri 7am -5pm). Other locations can be found by calling 865-524-3074 or visiting medicblood.org.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year olds weighing 120 pounds or more can donate but must have parental consent) and all donors must have positive identification.
