Boater drowns in Dale Hollow Lake

CELINA, Tenn. (AP) -- A boater has drowned in Dale Hollow Lake.

Clay County officials did not immediately release the name of a man who went under while swimming to retrieve his drifting boat.

WTVF-TV in Nashville reports the victim and his wife were at Ashburn Creek on Thursday afternoon when wind pushed their boat off a bank and the man went after it and disappeared under the lake surface.

His body was recovered about three hours later.
