BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) --The man found in the Little River Thursday night has been identified as Lance Michael Larson, 29, of O’Fallon, Missouri.
An autopsy was performed on Larson Friday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but the cause of death is still under investigation.
The Sheriff’s Office is looking for Larson’s vehicle, a tan 2003 Kia Spectra, 4-door, with a Missouri registration CF1S9R. The Criminal Investigation Division also needs the public’s help from anyone who has seen or spoken to Lance Larson in the last few weeks.
Larson’s body was found in the Little River approximately a half mile downstream from the Roddy Branch boat access area off Old Knoxville Highway in Rockford. He may have been on foot or driving the tan Kia Spectra.
In February, Larson traveled to Lynchburg, Virginia from his home in O’Fallon, Missouri. Last known contact with his family in Missouri was around February 20th, when he told his parents he was headed back to Missouri. It is not known why Larson was in the Rockford area.
If anyone has information about Larson, or has seen or spoken to him since February 19th, you are asked to call the Blount County Communications Center at (865)983-3620.
