Crimetracker: Man charged with murder of brother in North Knox County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home at the 7200 block of Meadowbrook Circle around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday morning after a man was found lying in a pool of blood on the front porch.

According to the initial investigation, 27-year-old Steven Wayne Brooks and his brother, 33-year-old Bobby Allen Johnson, of the same residence, had been involved in a physical altercation.

After the fight, Brooks left the residence. Johnson’s fiancée and another family member, both living in the home, discovered his body on the front porch and called 911. Johnson was transported by Rural Metro to Tennova North where he was pronounced dead.

While KCSO officers were on the scene, Brooks returned to the home and was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with second degree murder and is being held in the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility on a $150,000 bond.
