KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) For a lot of people, stepping on the bus is a daily routine. But on one trip, the routine became scary.

A man boarded a KAT bus along Cumberland Avenue and started yelling at the driver and passengers. One man tried to calm him down, but that's when the fight started.

One woman caught the whole thing on her cell phone camera.

Robert Warner was on the bus when the fight started. He tried to break it up.
He said, "this particular guy told him to, in expletive language, to keep his (you know what) shut otherwise hes going to shut it for him."

Director of Marketing for KAT, Belinda Woodiel-Brill, watched the video on YouTube.

It's very disappointing sometimes for me to see. Sometimes, occasionally, people acting poorly on our buses," says Woodiel-Brill.

She says bus fights don't happen often.

If a fight does happen, KAT trains its drivers to pull over, call dispatch or police, and open the doors to let the people fighting, out.

Woodiel-Brill says, "the female operator did follow all of the regular prodcedures as far as what to do in an incident like this."

Even with the procedures, Warner thinks more needs to be done.

"What happens the next time? The next time it could be more deadly. I mean, I think everybody was blessed on that bus that they didn't have any kind of weapon," says Warner.

No charges have been filed.
