Katrina Woodby
BLAINE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The charges against a Grainger Co. mother whose 5 year-old daughter was found in the trunk of a car have been dismissed, according to the Grainger Co. Court Clerk.
Katrina Woodby had been charged with Child Neglect after her daughter was found locked inside the trunk of a car. The deputy who pulled her out said she was bright red, hot to the touch, and covered in perspiration.
"This could have been such a tragedy," said Sheriff Scott Layel. "Grainger County deputies quick response in the search and getting EMS treatment probably saved this child from suffocation or heat stroke. The temperature inside the trunk was well over 100 degrees."
The little girl was taken to Children's Hospital in Knoxville and DCS was called in to investigate.
