Letalvis Darnell Cobbins
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- While jurors debated the fate of alleged accomplice Vanessa Coleman, Letalvis Cobbins appeared in court as well on Tuesday, asking a judge to grant him a new lawyer.
Cobbins and his attorney were ordered not to have any contact with each other last August while Judge Jon Blackwood reviewed some of the paperwork from his case. Since then, Blackwood has been removed from the case, leading Cobbins to request the change.
"I don't really have any complaints or problems with you; only that I would like to be kept up to speed with whats going on in my case, and, um, if I could recieve the documents ahead of time before we enter court those are the only real issues I have," argued Cobbins,
In the end, the court rejected his motion, but did allow Cobbins to start working with his lawyer again.
He is due back in court on December 13th for a status hearing where he will argue again for a new trial.
