JACKSBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) - A terminally ill mother has just one dying wish.

She wants her little girls to have a bedroom, designed just for them.

Tonight, her friends and family gathered in Campbell County to pray and raise money to make that happen.

It's been a difficult three months for Dolly Farmer since her daughter, Heather Santana, was diagnosed with a blood disease. She's now living in a nursing home with only months to live.

"Cried for three days straight. I couldn't eat, couldn't drink, all I did was cry and lean on this one here," said Farmer.

Candles lined the track at Jacksboro Middle School as prayer for Santana and her family began.

Just on Wednesday, her family gathered to celebrate her 32nd birthday.

"It's hard knowing that, like she said yesterday, this might be her last birthday," said Farmer.

Her daughters, are only 10 and 11, and know she is dying. So this prayer and fundraiser is also for them, to give strength as they say goodbye to their mom.

"Lily wrote her mom a card yesterday. In it, she said Mom, I love you always. And she said even if you die, I will know that you will always always be watching over me," said Farmer.

Many of Santana's former pre-school students and their families attended the vigil tonight.

Her family says she was almost finished with her degree to become an accountant when she got sick.
