SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Sevier County Commission has set a meeting on Thursday to look at plans for a new industrial park off Interstate 40.
The commission voted to table a vote on 115 acre land purchase in December, until the February meeting.
Sevier County Economic Development officials are looking for an area to build a new industrial park. Right now the county has 5 acres of land available for a company to build on, but many companies are looking for much more land.
The site the county is looking to acquire, will need some upgrade along with the roads leading there. Newton says the county will need to figure out how to pay for all of the infrastructure improvements needed once the land deal is finalized.
The commission plans to review purchase of the land at a workshop Thursday night, a vote is scheduled for Monday, February, 18.
