Driver in fatal church van wreck due in court Monday

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The driver charged in the deadly crash that killed two people in a church van, will be in court Monday morning..

Tyler Schaeffer will be arraigned before a Sevier County judge. He faces dozens of charges including vehicular homicide, DUI and aggravated assault.

The wreck happened on Chapman Highway in September.

Police say Schaeffer crashed his SUV into a van carrying members of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

The crash killed 16-year old Courteney Kaliszewski and youth pastor Jeff Trussell.
