Crimetracker: Teen dies after Friday drive-by shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police Officers responding to a shooting call in the 2300 block of Woodbine Avenue Friday evening found a man shot in the chest.

According to witnesses, someone in a grey sedan opened fire on a boy and his brother walking down the street.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he later died during surgery. Police believe he is 17 years old. His brother ran for cover during the shooting and was not hit.

The victim's name will be released at a later date.

After the shooting, the suspect drove east on Woodbine Avenue, and police are still searching for the car.

Police are still working on leads on the case.
