KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Former University of Tennessee Volunteer quarterback Erik Ainge was arrested early Sunday morning on drunk driving charges.
According to the Knoxville Police Dept., officers saw the 2014 GMC Sierra Ainge was driving swerving in and out of the middle lane of I-40 near the West Hills exit around 1:15 a.m.
After pulling him over, Ainge reportedly failed the field sobriety test. He was arrested for DUI, Implied Consent, and Roadway Lane Violation.
Ainge, 27, played for UT from 2004 through 2007 before being drafted by the New York Jets in 2008. He retired from the NFL in 2011. He currently hosts the Eric Ainge Show on Tennessee Sports Radio 1180.
