A Knox County Sheriff's deputy faces administrative action after being arrested for DUI and car theft charges.
Officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Cotton Eyed Joe’s in West Knox County Friday night on a disturbance call.
According to KCSO, Jason Williams, 40, took a bag off a table and car keys. The owners found Williams in the parking lot with the bag and their cellphones.
Officers said the car was moved from where it was initially parked.
According to the incident report, Williams said that he got into the victim’s car and drove it, but decided not to take it and left it at the end of the parking lot.
Williams reportedly got into a physical fight with witnesses in the parking lot.
Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones said per the Knox County Merit System policy and procedures, official administrative action will happen at 9:00 Monday morning.
Williams was assigned to the Radio Unit of the KCSO where he worked on two-way radios.
