Crimetracker: KPD searching for driver who hit 11-year-old

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- Knoxville police are searching for a driver who hit an 11-year-old kid on his bike and took off.

It happened at 4:40pm Friday afternoon on South Olive Street in Walter P. Taylor Home. The boy was riding his bike when he was hit by the car. Witnesses say the driver got out of the car, looked at the boy and then drove off.

The child was rushed to Children's Hospital, but is expected to be fine.

Witnesses say the car was a black, medium sized sedan, driven by a man wearing a black and red toboggan. He was last seen heading north on South Olive Street.

Anyone with information should call 911 or KPD at 215-7212.
