KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox Co. Sheriff's Office says it's been working around the clock trying to figure out just how many cars Aaron Estes has burglarized over the past couple months.
Even after detectives drove him around town all day so he could point out all of the places he targeted, they still had to go back out Thursday morning so he could point out more spots.
So far, the sheriff's office has confirmed 20 of the burglaries occurred in Knox Co. and two more happened in Knoxville. The subdivision where he reportedly struck include: Duncan Glen and Crestwood in West Knox County
They say he have broken into anywhere between 300 and 400 vehicles, as well as at least one residential burglary, before he was finally caught Wednesday morning.
The sheriff's office said Estes was arrested after someone reported a man sleeping in a car on Cedar Park Lane. When officers arrived, they determined that not only was the vehicle stolen, it was filled stolen property too.
The 24 year-old was charged with three counts each of burglary and theft. He also had an outstanding warrant for simple possession, officials added. He is being held on $41,000 bond.
Detective are contacting property owners as they figure out where Estes had been.
