KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Knoxville Police are looking for a man who stole a cash register from a local convenience store.
It happened around 6:30 Sunday evening at the KenJo Market on 1700 block of North Broadway.
According to KPD, a man entered the store and approached the cashier. He asked the cashier about a prepaid mobile phone card and when the cashier turned away, he grabbed the cash register and ran out of the store.
Police said a witness tried to stop the suspect but he got into a car and took off.
The suspect was described as a very thin man in his 20's, about 5'11 with short dark hair and unshaven. He was wearing a thin dark jacket with white stripes around the cuffs and a red knit cap.
The car he got into was a black PT Cruiser. The license plate may have been Flordia tag 785-YRN.
Police believe this car, the driver and thief may have been involved in other thefts in the Knoxville area. If you have any information, call the Knoxville Police Department.
