KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) – The man accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend is back in Knox County. Brandon Donaldson is being held on several charges including First Degree Murder.
He was arrested earlier this month in Rockford, Illinois after almost a month-long manhunt by the Knoxville Police Department, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Donaldson was wanted by the Knoxville Police Department for the February 13 shooting death of 19 year-old Marcia Crider. Crider was 13 weeks pregnant when she was shot to death in front of her mother. Donaldson was recently added to the TBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
Deputy U.S. Marshals in Rockford, Illinois made the arrest after the Knoxville investigation led them to an apartment complex in Rockford. Donaldson and Alexander Branner, Donaldson’s brother, left an apartment and managed to get into a car as the deputies were closing in. The pair tried to flee in a car and then on foot, but were quickly taken into custody by the deputies.
Branner was also wanted by the Knoxville Police Department for violation of probation.
