HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Hawkins County Sheriff says a a prescription drug trafficking investigation lead to the arrest of a man for transporting illegal substances.
Deputies say they arrested Edward Glenn Johnson, Jr., and charged him with Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Oxycodone, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance (Opana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Johnson was observed to be traveling South on Marble Hall Road in a Blue Nissan Xterra, at which time the Nissan pulled up to another vehicle, along the side of the roadway. Narcotics officers then approached Mr. Johnson and placed him in custody on the violation of probation warrant.
Johnson’s vehicle was seized for the illegal transport of prescription controlled substances. Mr. Johnson is currently lodged in the Hawkins County Jail under a “no bond” status.
