Crimetracker: Police sort through 3 sides of the same shooting story

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Investigators are sorting through three conflicting versions of what happened just before a 20 year-old Knoxville man was shot late Monday. Christopher Thompson was rushed to UT Medical Center after an EMS crew was flagged down on I-275 near Woodland Ave. He is reportedly in stable condition.

The medics called police around 10:00 p.m. and they were able to place the scene of the shooting near the Texas Ave and McPhearson Street.

Officers also took three people who were with the victim at the time to the Safety Building for questioning. They said all three of them gave different accounts of the events leading up to the shooting.
