KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A late morning chase on Tuesday lands on man behind bars on drunk driving charges after his SUV rams into a concrete barrier, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.. Christopher Letner, 39, faces charges of DUI, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and several other traffic charges.
Shortly before 11:00 a.m., police said they started getting word of an SUV with a busted rear window driving erratically down Rutledge Pike neat Pull-A-Part. A few minutes later, another call came about a similar vehicle hitting several objects in the road near Loves Creek.
Eventually, witnesses said the vehicle got onto the Interstate where it lost two wheels and hit the concrete barrier near James White Parkway before exiting onto Cumberland Ave./State Street.
