Crimetracker: Suspected burglar knocks over officer running from home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A suspected burglar intentionally knocked over a police officer while running out of the home he allegedly ransacked.

The officer was responding to a burglary call at the home on Blake Hill Way shortly before 11:00 p.m. when the suspect, Deangelo Johnson, came bursting out and ran to an awaiting Chevrolet Impala, according to police.

The car, which was driven by Shamon Brown, took off. The responding officers were able to pull it over on James White Parkway. Brown, Johnson, and an unidentified woman were taken in for questioning.

Johnson was charged with Aggravated Burglary and Assault on an Officer and is being held on $22,500 bond
