PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On the day they were supposed to close on their purchase of the former Belle Island Village, LeConte Village, LLC announced the deal has instead been canceled.
The developer cited issues with the material title and other, unnamed problems as insurmountable hurdles resulting in the transaction falling through.
LeConte Village also said it entered another formal agreement to acquire "certain hotel rights located on the property" from different party last Monday. The company added it is looking forward to developing that hotel and "the revival of the once-promising area of Pigeon Forge."
