CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It's almost too much for any parent to bear, to see a son or daughter die young.
Recently we brought you the story of Destiny Keathley who lost her battle with cancer.
On Friday, she was remembered at her school.
Destiny's classmates at North Cumberland Elementary attended a memorial service watching a video montage of her life in the schools gymnasium.
They shared pictures of the 11 year old, and told stories of their favorite moments with her.
"This is our way of getting some closure to this situation and that we have here at school and never had before," said Principal Michelle England.
"There's no words to describe it. It's beautiful, she made a huge difference in everybody and everybody loved her," said Destiny's mom, Angel Bowman.
At the end of the memorial, Destiny's classmates released dozens of balloons into the air.
