Driver killed in single car wreck in northwest Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One man was killed after his car crashed into a tree in northwest Knoxville Tuesday morning. The victim, who has not been identified pending the notification of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the wreck, which happened shortly before 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Bradshaw Garden and Ethel Lane.

The preliminary investigation indicates the 1991 Toyota Corolla was heading west on Bradshaw Garden when it went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

No one else was in the car at the time of the wreck.
