Early morning wreck leaves one dead

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An early morning wreck on West Beaver Creek at Beechmont in Knoxville leaves one man dead.

48 year old Carl Williams of Clinton was driving his 1985 Chevy Corvette this morning around 12:45 AM when he hit the curb, went sideways and was ejected throught the roof of his vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over, killing him instantly.

Officers say that speed was a factor and he was not wearing his seatbelt.

It is unknown as of yet whether or not alcohol was a factor in the crash. Bloodwork has been sent to the lab for further analysis and the investigation is ongoing.
