KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- "Oh my dear God, it's a person! There's a person in my closet!"
Tayna Palmer says that was her reaction to finding a stranger inside her home on Millertown Pike.
Palmer said she was putting away laundry when she discovered a man lying in her closet.
"I just stopped. I listened and I could hear heavy breathing. I just quietly backed away from the closet, went into the other room; I couldn't even speak."
When Knox County Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they found her husband holding the suspect, 18-year-old Andrew Davison, at gunpoint.
Davison appeared extremely intoxicated and was unaware of his location. Davison told deputies he had consumed a fifth of vodka earlier in the evening. The sheriff's office says Davison was apparently homeless.
No one was injured during the incident. The sheriff's office says Davison has been charged with aggravated criminal trespass and underage consumption.
