KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A West Knox County man escaped a fire Sunday night and watched his home of nearly 20 years burn to the ground.

Authorities are now looking for the two suspects believed to have robbed and intentionally set the home on fire.

It happened on the 11000 block of Yarnell Rd around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night.

Donald Thomas told Local 8 News he's thankful he and his pets made it out alive. But his home is a total loss.

Thomas has been staying with his brother Ross Thomas since the incident.

"It scared me to death," Ross said. "To me it takes a crazy person to do something like that."

According to Knox County authorities, Thomas told them two men came into the home, stole cash and doused part of the house with gasoline. The men were wearing black masks, according to authorities.

The brothers are now hoping for justice, and that those responsible pay for what the did.

"I hope they catch them," Donald said.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
