Fire puts East Knoxville man out of a home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A fire on the 2600 block of Selma Ave. in East Knoxville put one man out of home Sunday morning.

The man said he saw flames coming from under a wall-mounted heater after coming out of the bathroom. He tried to extinguish the blaze, but could not.

The Knoxville Fire Department responded after 11 a.m., and firefighters had the blaze out before 11:30 a.m.

The man was not injured, and in a release by KFD, he will stay with friends and family
