PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Firefighters and police officers in Sevier County battled it out on Monday night to see who was the best lumberjack, in an effort to raise money for people who don't have medical insurance.

Right now the Mountain Shepherd Good Hope Clinic serves 17,000 people in Sevier County. Executive Director, Mary Vance, says the clinic is turning away 800 people a month because they don't have the funds necessary to support the needs of the community.

The Lumberjack Feud hosted the fundraiser that linked firefighters on one team and police officers on another, teamed with the shows professional lumberjacks.

Money raised in the event will help fund a full time dental hygienist at the clinic.

The firefighters won the competition.
