KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former Knoxville city employee accused of trying to rape an underage girl is back behind bars after not showing up for his court date in August. Shannon Lee Glasper now faces charges of Aggravated Statutory Rape, Rape, and Failure to Appear and is being held without bond.

Glasper was booked on Wednesday. Police have not said yet how he was captured. Police said the rape happened in June at Glasper's home. The victim was reportedly 14 years-old.

The 25 year-old used to work part-time for the Knoxville Parks and Recreation division. He was fired over the summer in connection with the charges.

Glasper was originally hired in 2006; he had been working on Summer programs at E.V. Davidson park.

According to Walsh, there were never any concerns related to Glasper's behavior or character.

Glasper began working part-time with the city at age 17, and he was not background checked because he was a minor.
