KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- With Spring just around the corner, many homeowners are already thinking about summertime projects - and the Home Depot wants to be ready. On Wednesday, the home improvement superstore announced it would hire more than 400 people for the Spring season.
The company said it has started accepting applications for the upcoming season. Prospective candidates can even apply online at http://careers.homedept.com. Once there, select "In-Store Hourly" in Knoxville and click "Search."
Returning members of the military and veterans looking for work can now take advantage of Home Depot's new Online Military Skills Translator. The system helps match skills gained in the military with positions at Home Depot. The translator and a calendar of military hiring events can be found at http://careers.homedept.com/military
The company also notes that while the jobs are seasonal, many of them do become permanent. In fact, the company pointed out, about half of its seasonal workers last year accepted regular roles with Home Depot.
