KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. has nabbed the one of the two suspects wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in August. Myron Tate was spotted shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Christmas Eve by an investigator who was working at a bowling alley on Parkside near Mabry Hood.

The investigator was able to get a partial tag number off the red Ford Explorer Tate got into and called the police. Another officer spotted the SUV at the intersection of Parkside and Seven Oaks. When a second officer arrived, the Explorer took off, finally going off the road at E. Red Bud and Cruze in S. Knoxville.

Tate tried running into a nearby wooded area and officers called in a K9 unit. Tate was eventually captured, but not before the K9 took a bite.

Tate already faced charges of First Degree Murder, Failure to Appear, Aggravated Burglary, and two counts of Aggravated Robbery; a KPD spokesperson said he will also be charged with Reckless Driving, two counts of Evading Arrest, and Driving without a Valid License.

Roderick King was killed in late August at 2730 Magnolia Ave.
