KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)--Knoxville Firefighters had to battle the cold temperatures as well as a mid-morning apartment fire.
They got the call around 9:30 Thursday morning that an apartment in a house on Clinch Avenue was on fire. Firefighters turned the power to the unit off while they put the fire out.
No word on how the fire started or when the person who lives there can go home.
The other nine apartments in the house were not damaged by the fire.
KFD spokesman DJ Corcoran says says the age of the building and the amount of wood used when it was split into apartments can make for a dangerous situation.
